A long time ago, I had a conversation with my dad about when he was a refugee. He left his village in the north of Angola, at the beginning of the colonial war with Portugal, and, with his family, walked day and night, to get to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The number of refugees has vastly increased and, for the first time on record, more than 100 million people worldwide are refugees.
That conversation with my dad resonates with me so much more now, with all the refugees around the world, trying to get somewhere safe and find refuge.
I've set my goal to run the same distance my dad had to walk to get to safety and help those who need that same help now.
115km, 30 days. Feels like a big challenge, but when compared to those who have no other option, it is worth doing it!
Your help in reaching this target will make it possible - thank you!
